Why would someone risk prison
to steal a heart supplement?
At 13:59 GMT on Monday March 2nd, two of our production staff were finishing a packing run inside our Oxford manufacturing facility. Less than three minutes later, our security cameras picked up a man in a balaclava walking through the storage area. Straight past the cash. Straight past the equipment. He reached into a bin of finished Nattokinase bottles.
He didn't try to take everything. He didn't try to be quiet. He looked directly at the camera. He took what he came for, and he left.
So we asked the obvious question. The same one you're probably asking now.
Earlier this year, a report came out comparing the top nattokinase brands sold in the UK against their label claims: Horbaach, Double Wood, Luma Nutrition, Bulk Supplements, Hybrid Health, Raibu, Vinco, and our own. Only one brand passed third-party testing. Ours did. The other seven came in between 17.8% and 93% of their labelled dose.
Since the report came out, we've been watching what's happening on eBay. Resellers are buying our bottles in bulk from our website and listing them at up to twice the retail price. A 50% markup is now considered standard.
Here is what the lab measured:
Verified nattokinase potency vs. label claim
Eight top-selling UK nattokinase brands tested at an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. Potency measured in FU (Fibrinolytic Units) against the dose printed on each label.
Only 1 of 8 brands delivered the potency printed on its label. Ours tested at 134%.
Which is to say: there is now a small but very active black market for properly-made nattokinase in the UK. The footage above is what that looks like at the supply end.
