You're getting less than 18p in the pound of the active enzyme you paid for.

The most popular nattokinase supplements on Amazon contain a fraction of the enzyme activity their labels claim. We bought them, sent them to SORA Labs, and published every certificate of analysis.
If you take nattokinase, you trust the label. So did I — until I started testing.
Over the past year I've been buying nattokinase supplements off Amazon and from brand websites — the same products you'd find if you searched today — and sending them to an independent ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for potency testing. The question was simple: does the product actually contain the amount of nattokinase the label claims? For most brands, the answer is no. Not even close.
The full lab results
Eight nattokinase supplements purchased at retail, tested using the GM0068 fibrinolytic unit assay — the standard method for measuring nattokinase enzyme activity. Ranked by percentage of label claim delivered.
Breaking down the worst offenders
Three brands didn't just fail — they delivered less than 30% of what their label promised.
All three of these failing brands are top sellers on Amazon UK.
The nattokinase supplements most people actually buy are the ones delivering the least active enzyme. The brands ranking highest in Amazon search are the same ones that failed independent testing — by as much as 82.2%.
Roughly one quarter of the enzyme activity claimed on the label.
↓ Download COASame 5,000 FU spec as our product — delivered just 27.6%.
↓ Download COAIf your nattokinase is underdosed, you're not getting the dose studied in clinical research.
Most clinical studies on nattokinase use dosages between 2,000 FU and 5,000 FU per day. Nattokinase is taken to support healthy blood pressure, circulation and arterial health.
- Vinco delivers 711 FU. Below the threshold of every clinical trial we could find.
- Raibu delivers 528 FU. About a quarter of the lowest researched dose.
- Hybrid Health delivers 1,380 FU. Half the minimum studied amount.
You're paying for cardiovascular support and getting a fraction of the enzyme activity the research is based on. That's the whole point of testing every batch — and publishing every result.
We test every batch. Then we publish the results.
Most brands never test after formulation. We test every single production batch through SORA Labs (ISO 17025 accredited) before it ships — and publish every Certificate of Analysis publicly. No other nattokinase brand does this.
Every bottle has a QR code. Scan it to see your batch's test results.
Your bottle's batch number is printed on the label and encoded in a QR code. Point your phone's camera at it and you'll be taken straight to the SORA Labs Certificate of Analysis for the bottle in your hand — the actual lab paperwork, not a marketing page.

What you should look for in a nattokinase supplement
If these results concern you — and they should — here's the four-point checklist before buying any nattokinase product.
Third-party testing on every batch
Not just "third-party tested" as a marketing claim. Ask the brand for the COA for the specific batch you're buying. If the answer is no, that tells you everything.
Published Certificates of Analysis
Look for brands that publish lab results publicly — not behind a contact form. We publish every batch at testing.nfsupplements.co.uk.
FU potency, ISO 17025 accredited lab
The fibrinolytic unit (FU) assay is the only meaningful measure of enzyme activity. A label listing only milligrams tells you nothing about potency.
Deliberate over-formulation
Enzymes degrade over time. Reputable manufacturers formulate above label claim so the product still meets spec at end of shelf life.

From people who actually feel the difference
Now non-hypertensive. I have been using the supplement for 33 days. My doctor has just confirmed I am now non-hypertensive.
It works. Down from 145/94 to 125/82 on average.
I can genuinely feel the benefits. At 59 years old I had growing concerns about my arterial health. I am only three weeks in and my breathing is better, I'm feeling more awake and I cannot recommend Nattokinase enough!
Incredibly impressed by the results. My blood pressure was on average 155/95 and my latest reading was 119/75. I found Natural Foundation and I have to say I'm incredibly impressed.
A customer for about 4 months. My blood pressure has come right down so I will keep taking it.
Recommend to all my patients. Been on Nattokinase for several months. I like it and recommend to all my patients and family. I am a physician in practice.
BP is definitely sorting itself out. Started taking the tablets about 3 weeks ago and my blood pressure is definitely sorting itself out — steady and a lot lower which is a big relief.
Outstanding. I've noticed a change in my circulation. It feels a lot different for the better.
Questions about the lab testing
Everything about the methodology, the results, the product, and the autoship.
SORA Labs is an independent ISO 17025:2017 accredited analytical laboratory based in Forsyth, Missouri, USA. We chose them because the GM0068 fibrinolytic unit assay is their specialty — it's the standard method for measuring nattokinase enzyme activity. They've been accredited for testing and calibration to international standards.
FU stands for Fibrinolytic Units, the standard measure of nattokinase enzyme activity. Unlike milligrams (which only measure weight), FU measures how effectively the enzyme can break down fibrin. A label that lists only milligrams tells you nothing about how potent the enzyme actually is. The only way to verify FU is through a lab assay like GM0068.
Nattokinase enzyme activity degrades during manufacturing, storage and shelf life. Many manufacturers do not formulate above label claim to account for this — and there is no legal requirement in the UK or US for supplement brands to verify potency through independent testing before selling. Without mandatory testing, some brands sell products that never met their claim from the start.
Yes. Natural Foundation Supplements commissioned and funded the testing. All products were purchased directly from retail channels (Amazon and brand websites) — not supplied by manufacturers. Every Certificate of Analysis is published publicly so anyone can verify the results independently.
Our result exceeded the upper limit of the linear assay range, meaning our actual potency could be even higher than 6,720 FU. The same caveat applies in reverse to Luma Nutrition and Bulk Supplements — their values fell below the linear range, so the lab can only confirm they are below the stated thresholds.
Each capsule contains 5,000 FU of Nattokinase alongside Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) and Oregano (Origanum vulgare) extracts — clinically studied and traditionally used ingredients for cardiovascular and arterial support.
A fibrinolytic enzyme derived from natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soybean food. It has been widely researched for cardiovascular health, including support for healthy blood pressure, circulation and arterial function.
We test every single production batch through SORA Labs before it ships to customers. Every Certificate of Analysis is published at testing.nfsupplements.co.uk. Check the batch number on your bottle, search the database, and you'll find the exact lab paperwork for your product.
1 capsule per day with water, preferably with a meal.
Some notice changes within weeks, but full benefits in clinical research are seen over a 12-month course.
Most clinical studies on nattokinase use dosages between 2,000 FU and 5,000 FU per day. Our product provides the upper end of that range. This is also why brands testing at 528 FU or 711 FU per serving fall below the threshold of meaningful clinical research.
Nattokinase may interact with anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medications. If you take any blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder, consult your GP or healthcare provider before starting.
Yes — vegetable capsules, no animal-derived ingredients.
Manufactured in our own GMP-certified facility in Oxford, UK. Every batch is third-party tested before shipping.
Contains soy (nattokinase is derived from fermented soybeans). Free from gluten, dairy, nuts, artificial colours and preservatives.
Dispatched same/next day. UK delivery 1–3 working days.
Yes for 3-month autoship plans. Small fee for monthly or one-time orders.
